Plinths

PL. 3.2 stretcher plinth, made by rebating a standard 65mm brick and bonding in an angled insert cut from a matching 65mm brick.

Based on a PL. 3.1 stretcher plinth, this was made by rebating a standard 65mm brick and bonding in an angled insert cut from a matching 73mm brick. The angled face dimension at 45° would be 79mm, so we increased the angle slightly until the 73mm insert met with the top of the brick. This created a plinth that retained the important 9mm up-stand, and was still a sympathetic match for the existing building.

* We also supplied a sample PL.3.1, cut from a single brick and refaced to the correct size and angle, but the architect preferred the ‘ brick insert’ option, and we turned the order out quickly and at very short notice.

90° external plinth return, cut and bonded from standard PL. 3.2 to customer’s dimensions.

PL.7.2 left hand external plinth return, made from cut and bonded plinth stretchers.

A selection of PL 3.2 plinths, cut and bonded by using a rebated bottom brick and a triangular insert to give the sloping face.

All perfectly colour matched!
